SORBET Certification

SORBET Inscription

While you can have confidence that every SORBET sapphire is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced, jewellers are able to offer further assurance through a certified grading report. SORBET sapphires are graded at the SORBET Sapphire Institute in Toronto, Canada.

A SORBET Certifiation Report is an accurate assessment of your sapphire’s unique qualities: its cut, clarity, color and carat weight. Each sapphire is checked at least five times to ensure an accurate profile that is reliable and consistent.

In addition to your sapphire’s technical 4Cs details, the passport-sized Grading Report provides a special blueprint which maps the exact qualities that make the sapphire one of a kind and confirms that it is natural and untreated.

Sapphires that are eligible to become SORBET are sent to the SORBET Sapphire Institute in Bangkok, Thailand, the internationally renowned center of sapphire excellence. As part of the SANT Enterprises group of companies, our experts draw on cutting-edge bespoke technology and grading processes, as well as years of sapphire expertise, to carefully inspect every sapphire, going beyond industry standards to hand-pick only those sapphires that are truly beautiful.

Only once a sapphire’s provenance and quality are confirmed can it receive the SORBET inscription – a symbol of our promise.

The SORBET inscription consists of a unique identification number and the SORBET icon. The inscription is 1/20th of a micron deep – 1/5000th the depth of a human hair – and is placed on the table facet of the sapphire, using confidential, proprietary technology developed by the SANT Enterprises group of companies.

Invisible to the naked eye, our inscription is not only proof that each sapphire is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced, but also allows you to register your sapphire for extra assurance.
